Raed Jarrar, a US resident was forced to cover his T-Shirt in JFK airport because it had the words ” We will not be silent ” written in Arabic . This incident happened in Aug 2006. Since that day, the case was presented to the court without any outcome . Yesterday, Raed was compensated with 240,000 USD for damages from two U.S transportation agencies and from Jet Blue airlines. His attorney described the decision as a victory for free speech and a blow to the discriminatory practice of racial profiling. Congrats to Raed..it was worth waiting!
